For the Luke fans out there!
November 26th, 2008Well I get a lot of emails from friends and family asking for updates on Luke and if we’re going to have any more. Well first here’s the little guy for you to see how’s he’s growing. He’s just about to crack 5 pounds!

We are so pleased to be his parents. Holding him makes everything seem better. It’s like he’s got some crazy spell he puts on you. All my business worries just fade away when I’m feeding him or holding him. Some of you asked if there’s more kids in our future and the answer is no. In my opinion my wife puts out some great looking kids but all three have had challenging births. I don’t know if I’ve told the back story that they each have that has drawn the line after Luke.
Josiah now 8 was born with his cord wrapped twice around his throat. We had to do an emergency c section to quickly get him out. (Darn, I’m already tearing up just remembering the miracles my boys are to us).
Isaac now 5 was born a “true knot”. His heart rate was dropping through the floor and they had no idea why. Upon doing another emergency c section they quickly yanked him out to find a perfect slip knot in his cord. Every time a contraction would hit she would push and cinch his cord cutting off all vitals to his body. When he was out and cleaned up I went with the nurse to the nursery and on the way she stopped at every nurses station to announce that “we’ve got a true knot.” All the nurses would come around and congratulate me and ooh and ahh. She kept doing this so I stopped her in the hall to ask why. She looked at me and said, “You don’t get it do you? Most true knots don’t survive.” We walked on in silence. I hope some day our boys realize how much we love him and how special he is to us.
So no football team for us, though my wife would love it.
