Sunny San Diego

June 25th, 2008

This past Saturday we drove to San Diego to shoot Jim and Shelly’s wedding which was held on the Berkeley Ferryboat , a great place for a wedding. Jim and Shelly were just amazing to be with. Their details for the wedding were great, they were very relaxed, they even took us to lunch at St. Tropez Bistro yummy!

Here’s a couple images from their day as well as a note I just had to share with you all I received from Shelly on Monday after the wedding. Oh and there’s a slide show I’ll post maybe tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Here’s part of the note from Shelly:

hi mark!

i am sitting here getting ready to watch my first sunrise on our honeymoon and thought how i needed to get my camera when i remembered that i hadn’t emailed you yet.

i wanted to tell you how absolutely impressed my entire family and so many guests were with you and val.  every family member and friend i spoke to yesterday said just how awesome they thought you guys were, and many of these folks have yet to see a single picture since they didn’t view the slide show you set up. they thought you were so professional, yet not rigid and stuffy, around when you needed to be, yet never in the way.  in other words, they thought you two were perfect! :-)

it is incredibly telling that next to comments about how beautiful the bride was, how great the ceremony, singers and reception was, that the next comments would be about  how wonderful and professional the photographers were.  it speaks volumes to both your characters and i even think you impressed jim davis, the event coordinator.

we both wanted in a wedding photographer. in fact, we are considering a trash the dress session with you in the future since i am not 100% positive what i want to do with the dress.

thanks again for everything mark!

No, thank you Jim and Shelly. Thank you.

Eric and Valerie’s E Session

June 24th, 2008

So I’ve just got to say to all the great couples I work with… THANKS! You all keep pushing me creatively and technically. I love creating for all of you and Eric and Valerie were no exception. My favorites are the high key beach shots we got on this washed out overcast day in Long Beach. Let me know what you think!

Jon and Casey

June 17th, 2008

So my beautiful wife reminded me tonight that I haven’t posted any wedding slide shows in a while. I guess I really haven’t. So since I’m working on the slide show from this past Saturday, I thought I’d share it with all of you.

This is Jon and Casey. Their wedding was held in La Canada at the Church of the Lighted Window, then we moved over to Descanso Gardens for a beautiful reception.

Enjoy!

DASH!

June 16th, 2008

So Josiah had his Olympics last week at school. He ran the 100 yard dash and finished in first place!

100 yard dash finish line -

He also ran as the anchor in the 300 meter relay and yes, smoked the competition.

And by the teacher pointing at him we know, yep, he won!  Congratulations buddy! I love you.   :)

This is 40

June 12th, 2008

So first off, does anyone know where the title of this post came from? My buddy Frank might know. Post your guesses and we’ll see how well you know your music. Oops, that was a hint.

In other news it appears as though today is a 40-mile-stone for me. One of my really good friends Johnathan, came by my shop this morning and dropped off a little present that he thought I might be in need of very soon.

Well, so far my eye sight is still spot on. The cane? That one is still up in the air. I’m gonna try and hold off needing that as long as possible too. But thinking about age and what we accomplish during our lifetime did remind me of a commercial I recently saw. I assume the statement is meant to be funny, and I thought it was, but I also sit and think about it often and what it means to me and what things have I yet to accomplish. The comment? "It’s never too late to start beefing up your obituary." Some of you have heard of my dream to train for and climb Mt. Whitney as my grandparents did. Well, I guess I better get started and hopefully you’ll join me in living healthier, setting crazy, attainable goals and going for them. Have a wonderful day!

Mark
